Today was our last day in the WP. We started the day by helping the grade 1 teachers in preparing the students for the parade. Then we want to thank the principal for her collaboration with us. She gave us the English curriculum for grade 5 so we can a have a look at the book and start to generate ideas for Electronic book.
After that, we want to see the students rehearsing the activities that they will do on Sunday.Then, we continued to work in the need analysis tools because we have to submit them today at 4.
I think that this work placement was very successful and beneficial for us and we have learnt many things about integrating technology with education.
The principal and the vice principal were very collaborative with us and they provided every thing that we needed. I am looking for work to come back to the school next semester and hopefully we can a have a chance to help them and produce a product that can help the teachers.
Today was a good day for us. First the vice principal asked us if we could help them in preparing for the national day celebration. So went and worked in the stands that they will hang in the national day. After that, we started to work in the needs analysis tools; we gathered what we have done in these 2 weeks and started to write the conversations that we had with the school teachers and staff.
Today was an extraordinary day and we have done a lot of things. First, the school wanted to do the morning assembly out side the school, in the parking area of the Ministry of Labour which next to the school. So the principal asked us to walk one of the classes to there because their teacher did not come. There were police men to manage the traffic so the students can across the street safely. All the cars were stopping to see what is happening and the employees lift their offices to see the assembly.
After the assembly, we went to observe a class in grade 1. When Miss Maryam told us that we can go to observe this class Asma was so happy because this class is her favorite. I never saw Asma that happy especially when we are at College where she is always angry.
After that we attend a Math class in grad 5. There were over 10 Math teachers from different schools and the zone supervisor. The class was outstanding; the teacher used a lot of technology in her class and she used many educational materials to help the students to understand the lesson and the students were motivated and engaged.
I feel that today was a good day we have done a lot of things and we have enjoyed the day.

First we want to tell you that we worked in this post together because we feel board from writing the reflections every day.
Moving to more important things, today we did nothing that is related to the college's work because we feel that what we have done already is enough. We also feel that we are a burden to the school because we do not do any thing for the school. So, we decided to help the school, so we supervisor two classes in grade one. The first class was with boys and we gave the students activities that the teacher asked us to do and we had a little chat with the boys. The second class was with the girls and it was the same but we observed the firs part of the class where the teacher was explaining the lesson. Also, starting from yesterday most of the teachers and members in the school are very busy as they prepare the students for the national day celebration and in the next few days we hope that we can help them.
We think that helping the teachers and the staff made us feel that we are a part of the school system.
Yesterday was the first day in our second week in our WP. The school was really busy today because they are starting to prepare for the celebration for the national day. They will have different activities to celebrate the national day during this week.
Also, today we attended 2 different classes with an English teacher in the Al Ghad section and a science class with the 4th grade teacher. The science lesson was really great; the teacher has a really good relationship with the students and the students seemed to like the class a lot. After we finished the class we had a discussion with the teacher and talked about the importance of controlling the class and the students' behaviors. I liked this conversation a lot and the teacher gave us a lot of good advices. After we finished our conversation, we want to give the teachers the questionnaire.
I think that today was a good day. We have worked a lot on our tools for the need analysis and that will help us to identify a need or a problem that exist the school.
Thursday was our last day in the first week. First I arrived late to the school at about 8:30 (you can imagine how Asma's mood was). Then Asma and I wanted to meet the school leader but unfortunately she was very busy. So we asked Miss Maryam (the vice principal) if we could attend some classes. She arranged for us to attend 2 classes in grad 4 with the Arabic and the Math teacher. The classes were wonderful; all the students were motivated and engaged with the lesson. And we were amazed by how the teachers integrated technology in their lessons. The teachers also used a lot of motivation tools in their lesson. For example, if a student answers a hard question she would go up a step so she can reach the tower and the first student that reaches the tower will be given a prize. I have never seen students who are motivated, engaged and paid attention for the whole lesson.
Also, today we finished the questionnaire and we will give it to the teachers on Sunday.
Today we knew that our teachers did not agree on our idea. We were so disappointed because we thought that creating a CD for an Arabic teacher will be very effective. We went and told the principal about that and she was very understanding, helpful and flexible and she said that she will do anything to help us to do our project.
So she introduced us to the team leader of the school. We explained to her what we have to do. She also was very helpful. She said that she have done a lot of researches in her career so she understands what we have to do.
She sat with us and she explained what is a SWOT. A SWOT is an analysis that helps you to identify the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of your projects. In addition, today we started to work in our questionnaire so we can identify another problem and tomorrow we will give it to the teachers.
I think that today was a good day. We have learnt new things such as what is a SWOT and we feel that working with the team leader of the school will benefit us a lot.
Today Mr. Nick came to visit us and yesterday he had told us that the idea of creating a CD for an Arabic teacher might not work because he and Miss Maryanne might have difficulties to grade us. So our mission today was to convince Mr. Nick. We told him that the content our of the CD is not important because what is important is how we create the CD, what materials that we included in the CD and how the CD could be used to improve students. He said that if it is up to him he would agree but Miss. Maryanne has to agree, so we are waiting for Miss. Maryanne replay. Other than that we have not done any thing important so it was not busy day.
Yesterday was a good day. We started the day by attending classes with teachers from Al Ghad section and we were really impressed by how the teachers were using technology in their classes.
After that, we had a discussion with the principal and we asked her how we can help them. She said that the Arabic teachers might need some help because they want to use technology in their classes but they can't because they don't have time. So hopefully tomorrow we will meet an Arabic teacher and see how we can help her. The principal gave us an idea of creating Electronic book for the Arabic teachers. We thought that this is a good idea because we can include with each lesson materials such video, audio, quizzes and worksheets so the teachers can use them and these kinds of material with engage the students in the lesson and it will get them motivated.
I think that today was a successful day because now we have an idea about our project topic and we can start to develop it.
Today was the first day at our work placement in Musheiref School in Ajman. I arrived at the school at 7:30 and I had to wait for Asma for about 1 hour (to be exact 44 m, 22 s). While I was WAITING I attended the assembly. Then when Asma came, she and I talked with the vice principle about what we have to do. We told her that we want to do a questionnaire for students and she said she will arrange that during this week.
Also, today the school arranged a workshop for the Arabic teachers so we helped the organizers to organizing files for the visitors.
Also, we asked her if we can observe some class so we can identify some of the students' needs. She also said she will arrange for us to attend different classes. Starting from tomorrow we will attend different classes with different teachers so we can observe the teachers and students and see what they might need.
I think that today was a good day although we did not yet choose the topic for our projects. But hopefully attending the classes during this week will give us a clue so we can start working on our project.
